Hike or Bike
The Inn is Hike-in or Bike-in only.
Located along a gated fire road intersected by hiking trails, the site is not accessible by automobile. With the resident Innkeeper’s prior permission the following fire road use, site access and parking exceptions are allowed:

One car for the caretaker.

One additional car for overnight guests with an ADA placard, or those injured and unable to hike to the Inn.

Two additional cars for whole property bookings.

Seven cars, including caretakers, for repair, maintenance, work parties and WPIA fundraising events.
All fire road use, site and gate access exceptions are allowed only with the advance approval of the Innkeeper on site at the time of arrival and of departure.
Vehicle Parking
The West Point Inn is primarily a hike-in facility. There are several options for parking your car and it is very important that you follow these directions to avoid receiving a parking ticket.
Parking for Day Use (not overnight)
When visiting the Inn for the day, there are multiple options for parking your car. There is no charge to park your car at the Panoramic Highway parking lot across from the Mountain Home Inn or at the parking lots near the Cushing Memorial Amphitheater. Paid parking ($8.00, cash or check only) is available at Bootjack Campground and Pantoll Campground on Panoramic Highway, or at the East Peak Parking Lot at the top of Mt. Tamalpais. When parking at Bootjack Campground, Pantoll Campground or East Peak, you must fill out a self-registration envelope (available at the parking lot kiosk), insert cash or check, tear-off the receipt from the envelope, insert the envelope with payment in the receptacle, and place the receipt on your car’s dashboard (the receipt is your parking pass). Failure to pay the $8.00 parking fee or place the receipt on your dashboard may result in a parking ticket.
Parking for Overnight Stays at the Inn
When staying overnight at the Inn, parking is available at Bootjack Campground and Pantoll Campground on Panoramic Highway. The charge is $8.00 per night, cash or check only. When parking at Bootjack Campground or Pantoll Campground, you must fill out a self-registration envelope (available at the parking lot kiosk), insert cash or check, tear-off the receipt from the envelope, insert the envelope with payment in the receptacle, write “WPI” and your departure date on the receipt, and place the receipt on your car’s dashboard (the receipt is your parking pass). Failure to pay the correct parking fee ($8.00 per night), write “WPI'' and your departure date on the receipt, or place the receipt on your dashboard may result in a parking ticket.
Public Transit
Marin Transit offers daily scheduled bus service (Route 61) to the Pan Toll Ranger Station on Panoramic Highway. For more information click for Marin Transit schedule.
