Securing the Future of the West Point Inn

A Legacy Worth Protecting

The West Point Inn has endured financial challenges, natural threats, and even a global pandemic — each time sustained by the dedication and generosity of its members and supporters. In recent years, the Inn has rebounded strongly, with record usage, a full membership, and renewed operational strength.

However, stewardship of a historic property in a wildfire-prone environment comes with real and ongoing responsibility. A comprehensive 30-year study identified the need for over $1.7 million in capital investments, focused on structural integrity, safety, and long-term preservation.

Since 2022, significant progress has been made with approximately $300k invested in improvements, but the need for much more still remains ahead.

To meet this moment, the West Point Inn Association has launched a bold initiative.

The vision is simple and powerful.

Create a permanent financial foundation for the Inn’s future by building an endowment that generates sustainable annual funding - an endowment that will:

  • On-going pledges to the WPI Endowment

  • Protect the Inn from future financial uncertainty

  • Ensure that critical improvements can be made proactively — not re-actively

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

At full funding, a WPIA $1.2 million Capital Campaign and Endowment is expected to generate $60,000+ annually, helping support ongoing capital needs in perpetuity. We are rising up to this responsibility because we have momentum, an engaged community and a clear roadmap for the future of the West Point Inn.

Our Capital Campaign is being built on a shared commitment from our members and volunteer-driven community. Meaningful progress has already been made with early pledges demonstrating strong belief in our mission. But reaching success requires broad participation through:

There is no minimum commitment. Participation is open to anyone wanting to make a lasting impact. Every contribution, large and small, plays a role in securing the future of the West Point Inn —  a gathering place, a volunteer-driven community, and a living piece of history.

Now is the moment. We have the opportunity and a responsibility to ensure the Inn remains available to all for the next century.

We invite you to be a part of the WPI future.
