Snow on Mount Tam and WPI

Mount Tamalpais and the West Point Inn get remarkable snowfall on Februrary 24, 2023. Adventureres are on the mountain and our WPI innkeepers are there to tend the Inn.

Outside Magazine - Hike to a Lodge on the California Coast

West Point Inn is listed as one of "The Best 25 Winter Trips in the World" in the October 2021 issue of Outside Magazine. "We scoured North America, the Caribbean, and Mexico to come up with close-to-home destinations brimming with fun for any type of traveler" - and West Point Inn is on that list: "It’s just far enough to feel like you’ve earned a good night’s sleep, but not so far that you can’t bring the kids." 

Last Mount Tam Train To Return Home

Fred Runner wins auctioned-off Locomotive No. 9, which ran along the former Mount Tamalpais Scenic Railway, also known as the Crookedest Railroad in the World. After it is restored, it will return to Marin and Mount Tamalpiass

Serene Lodging Atop Mt Tam (BORP article)

"The Emig Cabin completed in summer 2017 is a purposefully built accessible cabin and features a private bathroom with a roll-in shower, a double and twin bed, and a small porch. Other cabin and Inn rooms are not accessible."

West Point Inn Opens New Accessible Cabin

The West Point is accepting reservations for the Emig cabin. This newly opened  cabin is wheelchair accessible and features a private bathroom with accessible toilet, wheelchair accessible sink and roll-in/walk-in shower, a double bed and a twin bed for an assistant.

Susan B. Anthony Visits Mount Tam

120 years ago today, Wednesday, September 16, 1896, Susan B. Anthony was a guest of Tamalpais Scenic Railway. She spoke before two women's groups at the summit. She was on a campaign tour supporting an amendment to the California constitution allowing women the right to vote.
